PBO Capoeira Tournament 2020 Kids & Teens

Our 4th Annual Palm Beach Open Capoeira Tournament will be happening on May 16th at the Karkara Academy in Boynton Beach. As in previous years, there will be 2 categories - Jogo (capoeira game), and Solo (individual acrobatic routine). This tournament is open for all capoeiristas from Karkara and other groups, from ages 5-17. We will be accepting regisrations from 3/9 - 4/26. After 4/26 we will not accept any new applicants, no exceptions. This is to allow us enough time to make important preparations to ensure the best possible experience for participants, such creating the most accurate competition brackets based on age and how long the competitors have been training capoeira consistently, preparing the awards and trophies, etc. Specific age and experience level ranges for each division will be determined after registration has closed and based on those who have signed up, and competitors will be notified in advance which division they have been assigned to and the corresponding arrival time. The tournament will be an in-house event that will provide an incredible experience for the children. They will learn concepts such as winning and losing, playing by the rules, being fair, and the value of putting in your best effort. Not to mention seeing that they are capable of so much more than they believe! These are all social skills that will be important for them throughout life.
